There's a common temptation to save money with used tires instead. We'd generally steer you toward an economical new tire. A used tire's history is unknown — it may have been run underinflated, repaired, or stored badly — and it arrives with part of its tread already gone. A new budget tire starts at full depth, so even if it wears a little faster than a premium tire, you're often getting more usable kilometres per dollar than you think.

Matching Rovelo to How You Drive

Rovelo makes the most sense for vehicles that do moderate, mostly local driving: a commuter car that rarely sees the highway, a student's first car, or a vehicle you plan to sell in the next year or two. It's also a practical way to replace a pair of worn tires on the same axle without stretching the budget.

Tire Pressure: The Cheapest Way to Make Tires Last

Whatever you pay for a tire, running it at the right pressure is the single easiest way to get more life out of it. Underinflated tires wear on the edges, build up more heat, and hurt fuel economy; overinflated tires wear in the centre and grip less. The correct pressure is printed on the sticker inside the driver's door, not the number on the tire's sidewall. Check it monthly when the tires are cold — especially as temperatures drop in fall.
